The 3rd FREE Ramsey community music festival 'CREATE-Fest' was another great success. Over two thousand local people (a quarter of our Big Local Area's population), spent the day together listening and watching community music/dance acts who shared the stage with professionals. Community stalls, bouncy castles and zorbs ensured there was something for everyone. The day would not have been possible without support from local businesses and volunteers from the community including first time volunteers from the new Ramsey Timebank.

Public transport is a major challenge for residents in rural Ramsey. The Big Local Partnership worked with Town, District and County Councillors to collect over 1,000 signatures on a petition to Cambridgeshire County Council, and contracted a specialist to report on transport provision in Ramsey Parish. Key findings pointed to Ramsey’s social isolation, sporadic services, slow journey times and expensive ticket prices. Across services, Ramsey offers less than 25% of bus service levels compared to similar sized towns, and the level of subsidy is much lower. This article from the Ramsey Million newsletter shows how the partnership has worked to keep bus services going, and the national media coverage they have received.
