Three Parishes

Welcome to the Three Parishes 'Our Bigger Story' website. This is part of the multi media evaluation of 15 Big Local areas in England. The website is an opportunity to follow what is changing in Three Parishes as a result of Big Local over a ten year period.

The aim of the website is to share the learning from everything that is happening in Revoe Blackpool with other Big Local areas and highlight what works in communities with a wider audience of practitioners and policy makers.

Three Parishes Big Local organised a ‘Have a Go’ day on Saturday 7th July at St Martins School. The idea of the day was to provide local children and families to take part in a range of physical activities (from archery to swimming) free of charge. The day was also an opportunity for local projects which have been supported by Three Parishes Big Local to showcase their services and activities and to raise the community’s awareness of the Big Local programme. A major theme for participants in this film was the way in which Big Local is helping to build new initiatives in the area, network new and existing groups and build a stronger sense of community in, and across, St Martins, Gobowen and Weston Rhyn.

16th May 2015 was the first time 3 Parish Big Local held a celebratory event in St Martins All-Through School. On this occasion, the 3PBL asked those who had received Community Chest grants of £500.00 to have a stall in the School gymnasium. There were about 30 stalls in a circle because we also asked other organizations whether they wanted to advertise through having a stall. There were activities in the gymnasium: walking football; school choir; archery and scouts had displays outside.

We brought together grant beneficiaries, some local organisations, folks who use the School, for social networking and promotion of Big Local. Head of School gave a good interview, very informative and co-operative, so this video looks briefly at the Celebration and her interview.
