Catton Grove Big Local has been supporting improvements to Waterloo Park since 2017. It had become a bit rundown and surveys and workshops in the park demonstrated people's desire to change this. The Friends of Waterloo park was formed at an inaugural meeting in May 2018 and with financial support and expertise from Big Local, it has continued to grow. The group is keen that everyone can get involved in making the park a better space and that all members of the community can make use of it. This is their story.

Update on Friends of Waterloo Park. As you probably know we started planting the fourteen flower beds to the south of the Pavilion last Spring and we had intended to finish the project this hear. However, recent events have postoned that for the moment. We did manage to plant a lot of perennials just before the lockdown and look forward to them coming into bloom from the end of June. Other plants that had been on order are being cared for by our members ready to plant when the lockdown restrictions are lifted. Many of us are also growing plants from seeds so hopefully we will still be able to have a good show of colour later in the season. Here are some photos of our efforts.
Our latest newsletter with lots of supportive articles has gone live. Please click on the link below and it would be really useful if you could share it with others. We would love to hear what you think and if you have any other ideas tell us. Stay safe! Take care! https://cattongrovebiglocal.co.uk/index.p¦/cgbl-newsletters/
