Welcome to the Hanwell 'Our Bigger Story' website. This is part of the multi media evaluation of 15 Big Local areas in England. The website is an opportunity to follow what is changing in Hanwell as a result of Big Local over a ten year period.
The aim of the website is to share the learning from everything that is happening in Hanwell with other Big Local areas and highlight what works in communities with a wider audience of practitioners and policy makers.
Sam Simpson, a local community artist who has worked with us previously through Community Chest, delivering the successful Art Explorers summer 2018, acquired 2 rounds of community chest funding from us to match fund with Arts Council funding to provide a We Love To Dance Come Join Us scheme here in Revoe. The funding she secured allowed her to deliver across Blackpool but the match funding from us ensured one of the projects were delivered in the heart of Revoe. The workshops were held at Ibbison Court Community Centre and were open to all ages, encouraging families to come together, where they explored different artists and techniques as well dance and movement.
