Public transport is a major challenge for residents in rural Ramsey. The Big Local Partnership worked with Town, District and County Councillors to collect over 1,000 signatures on a petition to Cambridgeshire County Council, and contracted a specialist to report on transport provision in Ramsey Parish. Key findings pointed to Ramsey's social isolation, sporadic services, slow journey times and expensive ticket prices. Across services, Ramsey offers less than 25% of bus service levels compared to similar sized towns, and the level of subsidy is much lower. This article from the Ramsey Million newsletter shows how the partnership has worked to keep bus services going, and the national media coverage they have received.
