It's been such a busy week down at the Revolution Hub we've only just got round to choosing a winner for our Annual Pumpkin Carving Competition, all the entries were SPOOKTASTIC. We hope you've now all enjoyed bonfire night too and seeing the Blackpool sky light up. We've had toffee apples and sparklers (in separate gardens this year and not the community garden)

Over the last few months, through community chest and consultation, we saw the potential that art based activities provided for the area and were keen to see this grow. We managed to gather a group of local community artists ranging from traditional to movement to dance to music, who were hungry to meet and explore options. It was felt that creating an art's base on Central Drive would be an ideal way to tackle a few of the issues raised through the plan, with this in mind we set about applying for the Creating Civic Change bid, the video was part of our submission. Unfortunately we were not successful BUT keen to keep this idea going and have been applying elsewhere for the relevant funds so watch this space!
So over the summer we worked with John Morrow, a local community artist and musician who did guerrilla drumming around Revoe to engage passerbys! From this he approached the local pub and they agreed to let us use the back room to do free music workshops. These are run every Thursday and have been an eclectic mix of music, rhythm, movement and poetry and have been inclusive of all ages from 11 to 79! They have been a breath of fresh air introducing accessible creativity to the residents where the patrons wander in and get involved!
