Welcome to the Hanwell 'Our Bigger Story' website. This is part of the multi media evaluation of 15 Big Local areas in England. The website is an opportunity to follow what is changing in Hanwell as a result of Big Local over a ten year period.
The aim of the website is to share the learning from everything that is happening in Hanwell with other Big Local areas and highlight what works in communities with a wider audience of practitioners and policy makers.
HBL run a Sewing Course where all the materials were provided. Some of the feedback received from the participants is: "This course is good and it helps for mental well-being and meeting people and making new friends". "I learnt new skill and made friends and it's good for mentally and therapeutic and for my well-being. It was lovely and very enjoyable. Gilly is very helpful and very well organised". "I enjoyed learning new skills and using a sewing machine. The tutor is very good and explains very well. She makes me feel secure and welcome". "I enjoyed every moment I spent in the course. I am happy". "I enjoyed the small bags I made. I have learned how to sew in this short course".
HBL organised Boxing Classes which were delivered by an experienced Boxing instructor, Mike. Some of the feedback received from the participants is: “I enjoyed improving my general fitness & the chance to get out of the house, as a full-time carer” “It was fun and also good exercise and something different”. “I enjoyed learning a new skill and getting fit”. “I enjoyed learning new skill, and being encouraged by a great trainer to do more. Thank you, Mike”.
HBL funded Pilates Classes which were delivered by an experienced Pilates instructor. Some of the feedback received from the participants is: “Maarten was a great teacher. Liked the fact it was local and community based, with local people. Great time, very convenient”. “The time flew by and I enjoyed so much. Maarten was fantastic and I have loved and learned about Pilates, which I will definitely continue”. “Really helped me get back my confidence after having a baby. Feel more connected with myself and gave me an hour headspace a week which has had a really positive impact”. “I have enjoyed every lesson despite some discomfort. I will continue with Pilates as I feel it has improved my overall flexibility and made me less tense”.
Hanwell Big Local invited local residents of the Hanwell Big Local area to enter our photography competition. The themes were Hanwell People, Hanwell Places and Hanwell Nature. There were three categories; Under 11 years old, 12-16 years old and adults. The prizes were given at the Award Ceremony.
HBL organised "Making a String Art Card' workshop where all the materials were provided. The participants learnt a new craft and made some lovely handmade cards. These are the perfect way to express their creativity and brighten someone's day. "I enjoyed the creative art and Laurie's patience to teach us a new skill". "Thank you so much for an opportunity to learn something new. I always watch people doing beautiful things with needles, but personally I have never done it before. Today I touched the needle for the first time and I love it. Thank you once again". "It was very relaxing and Laurie was very helpful and knowledgeable". "I enjoyed the environment, the peace and the fun".
HBL organised a friendly tour of the local area. Joanna Dudzinska from 'Talking and Exploring' led the walk interacting with the participants and encouraging their interaction and sharing their memories, knowledge and recommendations. The participants were grateful to HBL for providing an activity that brings people together, breaks isolation, encourages interaction between those on the walk and those met on route. Walking outdoors in a group and being mindful of the surroundings is a simple way to make people feel better, especially after the difficulties of the recent years. The participants enjoyed the walk, and many stayed on for a further chat at lunch at the local pizza place, L'oro di Napoli.
Bullying and Conflict Resolution Workshop where the young people were given the tools and techniques, they need to help them deal with bullying and reduce conflicting situations.
Hanwell Big Local organised Knit and Natter group for residents of the HBL area. It was a friendly group and people had an opportunity to made new friends and swap tips and ideas. Some of the feedback received from the participants is: "I enjoyed connecting with other people, sharing ideas and seeing others people's work". "The group and the tutor; they're very friendly". "I enjoyed meeting new people, sharing experience, learning new skills and techniques". "Gilly is very pleasant and helpful". "Thank you so much for the opportunity".
Hanwell Big Local held a fun day for residents of the HBL area in June at St Christopher's Church. There were lots of activities including a bouncy castle, interactive workshops, face painting, string art card workshop, arts and crafts, food and talent competition. We had an amazing turned out and people enjoyed a nice day out with their family, friends and the community.
Hanwell Big Local funded a cooking workshop for the HBL's residents. All the ingredients were provided. The attendees enjoyed taking part and learning how to make a retro pineapple upside down cake and French apple tart. Some of the feedback received from the participants is: "I just want to thank you for this amazing workshop and all you bring to the community". "I enjoyed everything we did as a team and our coach was very helpful". I would like more of these workshops to help us come out of homes and help us recover the side effects of Corona". "I enjoyed making food with others and making new things. Also, great that everything was provided!". "I enjoyed learning to make a cake and enjoyed seeing people from the area".
The residents from the HBL area attended "Making a String Art Piece' workshop. All the materials were provided. The participants learnt a new craft and made some lovely handmade pieces of art. Some of the feedback is: "The atmosphere is very lovely. The tutor is very engaging, calm and knowledgeable. I loved the workshop. Thank you so much HBL". "I enjoyed a sense of achievement when I finished my art piece. Lovely to meet new people". "I leaned new skills and met new people. I also enjoyed that I can share that with my daughter and she will love it". "The tutor was very nice and explained everything very well". I love session like that, short but very productive".
The participants celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in style by creating beautiful British themed bunting, perfect for decorating ahead of the celebrations. Some of the feedback received from the participants is: "What I enjoyed the most was how relaxed and easy-going Gilly made the class and therefore very easy to learn new skills". "This is a great way of getting groups of people from all walks of life together". "I enjoyed the company of the group and completing my bunting". "I am really enjoying to getting to know things and learning a new skill". "A great way of getting to know people from different backgrounds. Thank you, Gillian!"." Hanwell Big Local in partnership with Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College offered residents of the HBL area a 10-day accredited course. This prepared the learners to enter the world of work. They had practical tips and resources to improve their CV and gained valuable interview skills. "I enjoyed the interaction with others and also learnt from the content of the course. The course has increased my confidence to continue looking for a job". "After the course, I would like to change my mind on finding jobs. I also learnt that the motivation for finding jobs is important". "This course was also great motivation to get me to work on my myself and helps me to achieved few goals".
The HBL funded Pilates Classes were delivered by an experienced Pilates instructor, Maarten. These classes were for all health and fitness levels and were suitable for people with a wide range of medical conditions. Some of the feedback received from the participants is: "How relaxing and easy going was the class, very calming. Thank you for these amazing classes". "I enjoy meeting people and improving my wellbeing". "I liked the professionalism of the facilitator, the way he adapted the activities to suit everybody". "The class was good and I found it very easy to follow. I would like the class to continue because this is very good for the people in the area".
Easter Holiday Club ran for 1 week during the Easter holidays where the children did a variety of activities like Easter Art & Craft making masks. baskets and bonnets, an Easter Egg Hunt, some Sports Activities, and a Cooking Activity making chocolate Easter nests and decorating them with little chicks.
HBL is running gardening workshops during the summer holidays. This week workshop was "Making a wildlife habitat'. The participants use a range of natural materials to create a bug hotel that can be hung on a wall or put in a garden.

Are you and your children bored at home! Then look out for signs for the "Teddy bear hunt' and "Growing Kits' when you go out for your daily walk. Growing Kits: Vanessa has left today 50 "Growing Kits' at Paddington Court, Copley Close and Gurnell Grove (near the children's play area) for local residents to take away so look out for these Growing kits! Teddy Bear Hunt: Vanessa has put 10 teddy bears around Copley Wood (entrance near Chayne Path, Copley) and she also has attached the signs for the teddy bear hunt so explore around the woods and make up stories about how the bears got there and what game the bears are playing when you found them. This is just for fun, helping you to explore the woods! If you have taken a growing kit or you went to the Copley woodland for the Teddy bear hunt then please do let us know how you got on with it?
RESIDENTS OF HANWELL BIG LOCAL AREA EASE & Hanwell Big Local are here for you! Residents of Copley, Cuckoo, Gurnell and High Lane can get some support from our volunteers.
The After school Club children have done a variety of activities this term, during our cooking session we made a sponge cake, in our arts and crafts sessions we have made cards and decorated heart shaped ceramic pots for valentine's day and for mother's day we decorated some heart shaped jewellery boxes. We also went out to explore our local area for any hidden treasures using metal detectors.
HBL's October Holiday Club for children aged 5-12 years living in the Hanwell Big Local Area. During the February Holiday Club we completed a variety of Arts and Crafts projects we made wooden robots and wooden fairy mobiles, we also made clay faces that we moulded to the trees in Cuckoo Park. All the children went home with a photo frame that they had painted and decorated. We also had a football match played some team games and had a visit from the dogs trust to promote the awareness of dog safety. During our cooking session all the children made their own individual pizzas.
Local Trust's CEO Matt Leach visited the HBL area on Friday 7th of February. We had a tour of the HBL area followed by lunch and an informal meet up with HBL Partnership, a few partner organisations and some services users.
During the I matters workshop we discussed body image and low self-esteem the young people opened up and expressed their opinions about what is meant to be the norm and how you should look according to the media, where as in reality this is very different. The young people understood that majority of people don't like something about their body and it is important not to bully others about their appearance as this leads to them having a low self-esteem.
Under our Green Hanwell project, Parents got involved and supported their children in making bird feeders and looking at a range of wildlife habitats. Feedback: * Very interesting session, kids loved it, we also learned some many things about birds. Amazing initiative! Thanks a lot * I loved today's session. Informative, interesting, helpful, friendly. Excellent! * The bird feeder was a great activity to do with the kids. * Today was a treat but doing the apple was hard. * Today was so much fun. * Today I thought, it was fun because we learnt how to make bird feeder. The After School Club children have been having fun with some new equipment that we brought they are planning a little treasure walk so they can use the metal detectors. We have had a Halloween party and carved some pumpkins this was a big hit with the children we have a variety of arts and crafts projects ready for Christmas, along with cooking activities, sports activities, and much more! The children got to experience learning how to do Break dancing and Karate! A few comments from the children, "I've made new friends since coming here" "I love coming here to hang out with my friends" "I like doing the arts and crafts projects"
Hanwell Big Local's Small Grants funded the under 25's stay and play to help support Young families as they feel isolated and a lot don't have any friendships with families of a similar age outside of group. Families attend the trip which they enjoyed being able to go on rides with their children, seeing all the colourful lights and being able to attend a trip they could not afford, parents formed friendship during the trip. We received some really nice feedback from parents, "Being with other mums my age and the help and support i got with my 2 kids" "Was a lovely day out and i really enjoyed my time spent with my child and everyone else and being able to enjoy the rides with my child"
Under our Green Hanwell project, we had a 'Make a Festive Wreath' workshop. Everyone had a great time making and decorating their wreath.
We had a Mental Health & Positive thinking work shop which 11 young people attended, they were taught how mental health can affect you or anyone around you in so many ways from depression to bipolar. We discussed what signs to look for if you feel someone is suffering with mental health, We also looked at how we can help and support someone suffering with mental health. Young peoples comments "I learnt about different mental health illnesses" "I learnt how to better support someone with mental health"
This talk looked at some of the best plants to provide winter colour and be attractive to winter wildlife. At the session, they also looked at creating winter pots and other winter gardening activities that may be useful.
The participants enjoyed learning the sewing skills and making a tote bag. We had received a great feedback: "Well planned and organised with a very knowledgeable tutor. Good learning environment and learnt a great deal to establish a good sewing foundation'. "I learned how to use the sewing machine and how to make a bag in a very good and warm atmosphere. Thank you very much!' "I learnt several new skills, top stitching, learnt how to attach handles to a bag. I love my new bag'.
Under our Green Hanwell project, we had a 'Bulb planting and making a bird feeder' session. Everyone had a great time planting bulbs of Narcissus'Tete-a-Tete' and decorating the pots. Children especially enjoyed making and decorating their bird feeders.
HBL's October Holiday Club for children aged 5-12 years living in the Hanwell Big Local Area. The children did a range of activities which consisted of a variety of arts and crafts activities which the children decorated pumpkins tea light holders plus more Halloween decorating! They did cooking which they made homemade burgers and scary cupcakes, They had a mini sports day which all the children received a certificate and a football match and the children received a medal.They ended the week with a Halloween party which went down a treat!
HBL is running a variety of activities and workshops for residents of HBL to get involved in with the Green Hanwell Project. This month they did a Halloween themed activity which they made scary faces out of clay, parents and children got involved and made some really scary faces.
HBL in partnership with HCGA held a Cooperate Day under its Green Hanwell project. The Cooperate Company was IMG and there were about 30 of them. The day was a huge success. They all worked really hard, even though it started raining early in the day. They cleared paths, made a new composting area and a dead hedge and removed a lot of the stinging nettles. By the afternoon they had also started planting 1500 woodland bulbs in the garden which will hopefully make a beautiful display in the spring and they had cleared the play areas for people to be able to access better, whilst protecting an area specifically for wildlife.
We had a Healthy Relationships work shop which 14 young people attended, they learnt about healthy relationships and how not to treat the opposite sex. Young Peoples comments "I learnt to always treat girls right and to be a gentleman" "I learnt that in a healthy relationship that it is important to always be honest with one another" "I learnt that i should sometimes think about what i am going to say without just letting my anger take control".
We had a Gender Equality work shop which 6 young people attended, they learnt the importance of being treated equally, and not to judge other peoples opinions or feelings regarding equality. Young Peoples comments "I think it is very unfair that woman earn less then men in the same job" "I feel i have a better understanding of gender equality after today's session".

Hanwell Big Local supported Copley Close Residents Association with the Small Grants Award to hold a wonderful community event, which was filled with fun and exciting activities including HCGA who brought their smoothie bike which was funded by HBL, cup cake decorating, DJ, face painting and delicious food. Their was a football tournament which was very popular with the local young people who really got involved and had plenty of fun.
Gurnell Grove Residents Association held their annual Funday which was part funded by the Hanwell Big Local Small Grants. There were a variety of stalls on the day Ease and HBL, Gurnell Residents Association tombola, cupcake cake decorating, face painting, bouncy castle and the food stall which went down a treat The children also took part in a egg and spoon race and a three legged race which they all enjoyed.

Hanwell Big Local's After school club got to go out on an adventurous outing to Go Ape. All the children that attended said they enjoyed the trip and had lots of fun climbing in the tress doing the obstacle and coming down the zip wire at the end,This trip was a reward to the children for their attendance at After school club.
HBL's Summer Holiday Club for children aged 5-12 years living in the Hanwell Big Local Area which was on for 2 weeks. The activities consisted of a range of art activities including decorating wind chimes and bags and lots more! They did cooking which they made pitta pizzas and cheese cakes, They had a sports day which all the children received a certificate. Pulse came in and did a basketball session with both groups and they ended their holiday club with a trip to Oxygen which went down a treat with all the children!

In the first stage, Hanwell Big Local funded arts workshops to involve the local residents in the design and creative part of the project. During the final workshop they did a collage picture of the Hanwell area.

We had a peer pressure work shop which 19 young people attended, they learned about relationships, drugs/alcohol, how to feel confident in not getting involved in something that you do not want to do. We have done a Mental Health Workshop which 10 young people attended and said it was very interesting, they enjoyed learning about how broad mental health issues can be from depression to Schizophrenia. We then had a Gang Violence and Crime Awareness Workshop which 16 young people attended, this was very informative and encouraged them to pursue their dreams and goal and not to be lead astray by the thought of quick and easy money that most times leads to crime and often prison.

In April they were planting sunflowers and pumpkins which they will bring back in September to see how big they have grown. In May they made fairy and dinosaur mini gardens, In June they did flower bread making they learned how to knead the dough what ingredients they needed to add and how much. This month they were Making Natural Pictures using the natural materials i.e. flowers, leaves, sticks.
The trip was to get inspirations from Kew gardens for HBL Hanwell green project, whilst their they got to celebrate the Chihuly glass sculptures and kew's reflections on nature. The weather was lovely on the day, everyone enjoyed and appreciated being able to go on the trip. One of the attendees gave feed back on how much they enjoyed the day "it was amazing to see the Chihuly glass sculptures which were fabulous I had a great day out".

Hanwell Big Local and E.A.S.E took part in Hanwell Carnival's yearly procession. This year the theme was country's from around the world, everyone came together and took part in the parade dressed in tied dyed T-Shirts and they waved flags from around the world. The youth club children joined us again this year and took part in the parade.

Participants really enjoyed the course, the feedback was that it was very interesting and well organised. The tutor Gilly was nice, friendly and helpful.
Hanwell Big Local held a Showcase event with our Partners, friends, volunteers and stakeholdersW we wanted to mark and celebrate what has been achieved in the local community and to set out some of some our plans for the future. Local families joined our event from within the community for which some have received training and development grants and wanted to show their appreciation.There was food and drinks for all the families to all enjoy.

The trip was to get inspirations from Kew gardens for HBL hanwell green project, whilst their they got to celebrate the incredible biodiversity of Colombia through Kew's spectacularly colourful orchid display. The weather was lovely on the day, everyone enjoyed and appreciated being able to go on the trip.

Hanwell Big Local's February Holiday Scheme 2019- for all children aged between 5-12 years old living in the HBL area had the opportunity to take part in our fun filled activities, decorating bird feeders/houses, cooking and a trip to Hanwell Zoo.
The young people were funded by HBL to do a teen activity session. The young people got into teams of two or three and worked together to plan and prepare what they wanted to cook. The young people had a cook off on the 15th December which they took part in making a variety of different dishes like jerk chicken, rice and peas, mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, cakes etc. All the young people worked very hard making their dishes which was a very good session, and they won prizes.

Hanwell Big Local's After school club got to go out on an adventurous outing to Legoland. This trip was a reward to the children for their attendance at After school club.
Hanwell Big Local funded Healthy cooking classes for 4 weeks for the residents who live in the HBL area at Hanwell community centre. All the attendees enjoyed participating and learning how to cook different healthy meals from easy pesto pasta, vegetable samosa, sour bread dough,pizza, and raspberry and peach muffins and lots more wonderful ideas. All attendees supported each other during the classes to organise, prepare and cook the food, they were also able to take the food home.

Hanwell Big Local supported Copley Close Steering Group with the Small Grants Award to hold a wonderful community event, which was filled with fun and exciting activities including cup cake decorating, DJ, face painting and delicious Caribbean food.The football tournament and Basket ball shoot out was very popular with local young people who really got involved and had plenty of fun.
High Lane Residence Association held their annual fun day which was part funded by Hanwell Big Local's small grants.The activities involved Live DJ, EASE and HBL,Sand art, Bouncy castle, Face painting and a food stall.
Gurnell Grove residence Association held their annual Funday which was part funded by the Hanwell Big Local Small Grants. Their was a variety of stalls on the day Gift people stall, Ease and HBL, Baby cakes, Gurnell Residence association tombola, Face painting, Bouncy castle, Dj Active Audio and the Food stall which went down a treat.
Hanwell Big Local's Summer Holiday Club for children aged 5-12 years living in the Hanwell Big Local Area. They had a slime workshop day which went down very well with the children,a football tournament and after a fab two weeks they ended it with a trip to Rush and Go Ape which went down a treat.
E.A.S.E Youth Club members were funded by HBL to go out on an adventurous outing to Thrope Park. This trip rewarded the young people for their attendances at youth club and attending Gang Prevention Work shops during the sessions and to celebrate the end of year term.
Hanwell Big Local and E.A.S.E took part in Hanwell Carnivals yearly Procession. All the attendees enjoyed participating and learning how to cook different healthy meals from Fruity Yoghurt, Breakfast smoothies, Mini flat bread pizzas, Spicy tomato baked eggs, Chicken Tikka masala, Parmesan and herb muffins and lots more wonderful ideas. All attendees supported each other during the classes to organise, prepare and cook the food, they were also able to take the food home.
HBL's Easter Holiday Scheme for children aged 5-12 years living in the Hanwell Big Local Area. The activities consisted of Easter projects, Easter egg hunt, making chocolate nests, a football tournament and a trip to Oxygen which went down a treat!
After Hanwell Big Local carried out the community survey and the feedback received on services that the community wanted, HBL funded the community sewing course for the beginners. They learnt how to use a sewing machine and made a drawstring bag.
Hanwell Big Local's February Holiday Scheme 2018- for all children aged between 5-12 years old living in the HBL area had the opportunity to take part in our fun filled activities and met with cultivate London and planted fruit trees.
Hanwell Big Local held a Christmas event for the residents who live in the HBL area. There was live music from a local DJ, free prizes and games, food and drinks for all the families. The highlight of the event was Santa's Grotto which was enjoyed.
North Hanwell Traders Association, held a Christmas funded by HBL. There was a grotto and father Christmas provided free gifts, there was live music. There were stalls from the Halo and a florist donating profits to the Grenfell Tragedy.
HBL'S October Holiday Scheme 2017 - for all children aged between 5-12 years old living in the HBL area had the opportunity to take part in our fun filled activities and joined in with the fancy dress Halloween party down stairs in the basement.
Hanwell Community Centre held their annual fun day for the community. The Hanwell Big Local team were present showing support and outreaching their services whilst giving out goody bags to HBL residents and Humphrey the hound made an appearance!!
Hanwell Big Local worked alongside Cultivate London with the children from this years summer holiday scheme and organised for them to decorate Bird Boxes to be put up in and around the Woodland Area on Copley Estate. Look out for their Bird boxes!!
Hanwell Big Local supported Copley Close Steering Group with the Small Grants Award to hold a wonderful community event, which was filled with fun and exciting activities including cup cake decorating, DJ, face painting and delicious Caribbean food.
Hanwell Big Local's Summer Holiday Scheme 2017 - for all children aged between 5-12 years old living in the HBL area had the opportunity to take part in fun filled activities and went on trips to Go Ape, Northala Hills and Oxygen.
This year Hanwell Big Local increased the spaces for children on Summer Holiday Scheme. This allowed more children who live in the HBL area an opportunity to attend the Holiday Scheme and be a part of the Hanwell Big Local Family!
E.A.S.E Youth Club members who live in the Hanwell Big Local area were funded by HBL to go out on an adventurous outing to Team Sport Go Karting. This trip rewarded the youths for their attendances at youth club and to celebrate the end of year.
Cultivate London went round to Copley Close Estate and Gurnell Grove Estate to check up on the communal planting areas where plants & vegetables were planted by local residents. As you can see, the vegetables are growing and will be ready to eat soon
Gurnell Grove Association held their annual Funday which was part funded by the Hanwell Big Local Small Grants. The football tournament was very popular with local young people who really got involved and had plenty of fun despite the rain.
To celebrate the end of Ramadan, Hanwell Big Local awarded residents of Copley Close, Small Grants to hold an Eid Event. The celebration was open to all local residents and an opportunity for the community to come together to enjoy good food.
Hanwell Big Local in partnership with Hanwell Association of Traders held a Hawaii themed customer appreciation day. There was sandpits and padding pools for the children, to musical entertainment from steel-pans band & BBQ food for people to enjoy.
Hanwell Big Local and E.A.S.E took part in Hanwell Carnivals yearly Procession and Carnival with Active Audio. This year the theme was films, everyone in the Hanwell Big Local area came together and took part in the parade dressed as Blue Smurfs.
Parents, children from Copley Close gathered together to continue to plant flower and vegetable seeds. Hanwell Big Local appreciates all who joined in with the Community Planting Project and contributing to helping Hanwell turn Green.
Day 2 of Copley Community Planting day took place on 13th April 2017. Many residents from the Copley Close community where welcomed to join in with the horticulture Venture in helping Hanwell turn Green. Here residents planted seeds & new plants.

Hanwell Big Local ran their Easter themed Holiday Scheme for children aged 5-7 in the Hanwell Big Local Area. The activities consisted of Easter egg hunt, Easter card and basket making, Easter bingo and cooking Easter cakes which went down a treat!
The 8-12 year olds who took part in Hanwell Big Locals Easter themed Holiday scheme enjoyed their week full of fun activities. They made Chicken Kebab Sticks, Easter baskets, Jewellery making, Canvas painting and went on a Easter Egg park hunt!

Hanwell Big Local funded North Hanwell Traders Association, to hold a joint end of year festive celebration event in HBL area. There was live music & choir, roasted chestnuts, free balloons & giveaways and the highlight of the event Santa's Grotto.
Monday 24th October-Friday 28th October 2016 Hanwell Big Local & Ease ran their October Half term Scheme for children aged 5-12 years old. This Half term it was a Halloween themed and the children enjoyed a trip to oxygen and many more activities!!
Hanwell Big Local through their Small Grants scheme funded the Copley Close Funday. This allowed the residents of HBL to come together and get involved with fun engaging activities. The event provided various activities for adults & children.
Hanwell Big Local funded the Youth Mentoring Project. There are 12 Mentors who will be apart of the project providing 1 to 1 mentoring support for 24 young people within the HBL area. The Mentors successfully completed 3 days of training.
Hanwell Big Local, funded High Lane Estates Funday which involved lots of free engaging activities for the local residents who live in the Hanwell Big Local area. The activities involved Live DJ, Smoothie Making, food, a rolling bus and more.
Hanwell Big Local held a free two week summer scheme for children who live in the Hanwell Big Local Area. The age ranged from 5 to 12 years old's and offered a selection of activities and trips, such as PICNIC IN THE PARK, BOWLING, CINEMA, GO APE!!!
Hanwell Big Local worked in partnership with London Pulse to provide the London Pulse Sports Camp 2016 in Hanwell Community Centre. This offered free basketball, baseball and american football activities for children aged 8-12 Years Old's.

Hanwell Big Local organised and funded an outing for the young people who live in the Hanwell Big Local Area. The outing was a trip to "Thorpe Park Theme Park", which was very exciting experience as many of the young people had not been before.
Hanwell Big Local funded, through the Small Grants scheme, three weeks of themed activities for the children in Mayfeild Primary School. The activities provided the children with an Art Week, Book Week and Comic Club.

Ealing Council has handed over to Hanwell Big Local unused Land. This gives Hanwell Big Local the opportunity to create a communal green space and they are offering 2 year apprenticeship for people who live in the HBL area. [PROJECT IN PROCESS].
Hanwell Big Local worked alongside The Little Art Room, to offer 5-11 years olds that live in the Hanwell Big Local Area FREE art workshops which ran from 29/03/2016 to 07/04/16. The workshops provided Ceramic painting, Graffiti Canvas and Pop Art!
Hanwell Big local ran an Easter scheme in the two weeks of the Easter holiday for the local children aged 5 -12yrs. Activities included a boxes session, tennis and photography workshop. The scheme was successful with both weeks fully booked.
Hanwell Big Local funded a Holiday Scheme in February Half Term from Monday 15th-Friday 19th for all children aged 5-12 years old that live in the Hanwell Big Local Area. There was Pizza making, Gardening, Break Dancing, Trips, Football & Basketball.
Hanwell Big Local, Sponsored Hanwell Association of Traders(HAT) to run an event for the community. It allowed the traders to show appreciation to their customer by offering Live Music, Stalls and traders offered special discount in their stores!
Hanwell Big Local funded a celebration dinner which included Canape Reception and a sit down meal. This gave Hanwell Big Local the opportunity to celebrate and review the year, and to get involved with discussing ideas for the next three years.

Over the Easter school break we ran activities for Hanwell Big Local resident children aged 5-12 years. They did cooking with Let's Get Cooking, art and crafts with The Little Art Room and boxing with Ealing Boxing Club.
Hanwell Big Local played a major part in organising and funding this event for all ages. There was Live Music from Hats off to Led, Zeppelin, Jazz Mondays, as well as Arts & Crafts, Music Workshop, Historical Exhibitions, films and Refreshments!
Hanwell Big Local worked with The Little Art Room to offer Art Workshops for young people aged 13-19 for 5 weeks!!! It involved designing a canvas, allowing them to create an individual piece using their freedom of expression and Art Master Classes.
