Welcome to the Grassland Hasmoor 'Our Bigger Story' website. This is part of the multi media evaluation of 15 Big Local areas in England. The website is an opportunity to follow what is changing in Grassland Hasmoor as a result of Big Local over a ten year period.

The aim of the website is to share the learning from everything that is happening in Grassland Hasmoor with other Big Local areas and highlight what works in communities with a wider audience of practitioners and policy makers.

    The Open Forum is an annual event where achievements of the last are shared, people can vote on how grants are distributed and new partnership members are elected. In this film, people at the event share what they know about GHBL, the kinds of things going on in the area, and why some of them wanted to get more involved.

    In February 2018 Grassland Hasmoor Big Local launched its second community profile of Grassmoor and Hasland, North Derbyshire. In addition to updating local demographic information the profile outlines Big Local's progress to date and summarises feedback from residents on their future aspirations. The forward plan is presented under two themes - PEOPLE ( children and young people, working families and senior citizens) and PLACES (green and open spaces, living environment and community facilities).

    A film showing the Pit Stop Diner which provides a meal made from surplus food for the local community. The Big Local chair, local residents and partner agencies, talk about how Big Local is making a difference. People in the film highlight how residents are making change and their long term strategy to engage local communities and change mindsets and local authority ways of working.

    On 24/9/2016,Grassmoor Community Centre opened it's doors to GHBL's 1st Super Kitchen - the Pit Stop Diner. 75 residents of both communities came together to share a home cooked, low-cost meal, followed by art & crafts and the Community Cinema.
