Welcome to the Hanwell 'Our Bigger Story' website. This is part of the multi media evaluation of 15 Big Local areas in England. The website is an opportunity to follow what is changing in Hanwell as a result of Big Local over a ten year period.
The aim of the website is to share the learning from everything that is happening in Hanwell with other Big Local areas and highlight what works in communities with a wider audience of practitioners and policy makers.
John Gray, 63, has been taken on as Whitley Bay's new tidy town worker and his role involves keeping the area neat and clean The 63-year-old has been hired as Whitley Bay's new tidy town worker. He was appointed to the role by Whitley Bay Big Local, a Big Lottery-funded group that aims to improve the community. John, who lives in the North Tyneside town, will have a number of duties including gardening, small repairs, clearing rubbish and painting. He will also be asking residents and businesses what they think the main issues in the area are and what he or Whitley Bay Big Local can do to help improve the town.
